Best Way to Review Info Products

Even though reviewing digital products isn’t all that different from tangible product reviews, there are some differences. In today’s What’s Up Wednesday, I’ll be covering the best way to review info products online.

Get hold of the Product

Before starting any digital products review, the First thing you should to do is purchase the product yourself and then begin using it.

It is hard for anyone to really talk about or review an info product unless you’ve tried it yourself. However as you put it to use, you can then record your entire experience process from start to finish.

You can begin with the buying process. What did the sales page look like? What was the cost? How did the message affect you? Any bonus offers?

You can then move on to the next process of buying it, downloading and explain how that went – including any OTOs (one time offers), up-sells and cross-sells that you were presented with during this phase.

In addition, look for customer service information and check it out. You can even email the author or vendor of the product to see what kind of response time you get. Then write about all of these processes you experienced as part of your review.

Capture your personal experience with the product

As you write down your buying and user experience, you will want to share both your excitement about new ideas or strategies you discovered as well as any frustrations or disappointments you had with the product. Also share your own feelings and impressions you have about the product being as honest as possible.

At the same time, you want to avoid giving up too much detail about the product where you are practically giving it away for free, then the reader won’t have to buy that product. Also, it’s plagiarism to share someone else’s work in great detail once you’ve bought it.

As an affiliate, the main purpose of a review is to make sales and commissions encouraging the reader to buy the product if it is good and will help them.

Take your time with the review to do it right

Putting together a good info product review can take several days or even weeks depending on the product or service. Make sure to write as you use the course or product so that you don’t have to backtrack to remember what it was you were doing and how it was going.

As you are using the product, you should be open about what’s going smoothly for you as well as what isn’t. You should also make sure that you let the reader know about the results you are having with the product.

For example, say you purchased a course on list building to review – have you actually experienced an increase the number of people on your list by applying the course? If not, why?

Be honest

The key rule for any info product you review is that you are always honest about it. When you’re honest, your readers will know and begin to trust what you say. Then when you have positive reviews and recommendations, you’ll have better sales.

On the other hand, if you’re dishonest and gloss over problems, your readers will pickup on that too, and will discontinue trusting your recommendations. The results will be a decline in your sales and reputation as well.

The best way to review info products online is to share your experience openly and honestly – warts and all!
